Loved this surprise Oscar nominee for best foreign film this year, don’t miss, now streaming. About as far from a super-hero franchise as one (i.e. myself) could wish.

Gentleman Jack, a surprise favorite from a couple of years back, returns to HBO this Monday—takes the place of one of the best series of the century, My Brilliant Friend, which you can catch up with (three seasons) via HBO Max. Sadly, new actresses will arrive for the fourth and final season. Here are trailers for both series. (We also got through Severance, if barely.)

Also enjoyed the Jerrod Carmichael special, more moving than funny—no stand-up, a true “sitdown”—which is fine.
