A Little Bit of This and That
"New" from Leonard Cohen, a visit to Raptor Paradise, more honors for my film and Loony Ted Cruz.
Rather than one longer piece or a collection of cartoons/music videos, today we’ll just go eclectic. Enjoy, then subscribe, it’s still free….
Leonard’s Last
The great Leonard Cohen died just over five years ago this week, and his son and others are now offering what they say will be his last song/video to released from his Tower of Song. Birds Not on a Wire
As noted previously, in word and image, we are big raptor fans here, so yesterday we journeyed 45 minutes north to the land of Goshen and the amazing Falconry Excursions site. Here’s background on the amazing father and son who manage it and all the wondrous hawks and owls and falcons. Much more to be said and felt, but for now a few photos, starting with me and Woodstock, the Barred Owl. Central Park’s famous Barry had nothing on “Woody.”
Gyrfalcon
Boogie, the fierce-looking but gentle Great Horned Owl.

Film Updates
The leading magazine in Hawaii, Honolulu, just picked my Atomic Cover-up as one of the 13 top to view at the current Hawaii International Film Festival. And the Blow-up Art House Festival in Chicago this week named it a semi-finalist for Best Documentary and Best Doc short. Here is a link for the Honolulu piece and how to view the film online from there. And it opens at the Louisville fest later this week—the main weekly there also spotlights the film today.
