Around the World in Crazy Days
A dozen photos from trips abroad plus a tribute to the great guitarist Elizabeth Cotten.
Change of pace today, with one photo from each of several spots around the globe where I have visited, mainly in recent years. Before that: I was struck last night in skimming through the mainly tedious HBO Max broadcast of this year’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions (Judas Priest! Duran Duran!) with their tribute to an “early influencer”— guitarist and singer Elizabeth Cotten. Almost no one had even heard of her a few decades ago. My introduction came in the 1970s when Bonnie Raitt seemed to mention her and play one of her songs at nearly every concert. The HBO clip is not online but this earlier one for another induction is. Enjoy, then subscribe, it’s still free.
