Yes, it’s still somehow free to subscribe to this nearly daily music ‘n politics newsletter, please do so, and if you are already a subscriber, let’s hear from you, thanks!
Old buddy Bruce found time over the weekend to cut a Minneapolis protest song with band and backup singers so far be from me to resist need to do another rare “double same day posting” here (as I did just yesterday. I updated this morning’s post with the Springsteen but most subscribers would not have gotten that so I am presenting it below once again.
A word to the wise: While this newsletter got a nice surge in (free) subscribers last year, in recent months for every three new subs probably two have cancelled. So growth continues, but there is more churn. Those who leave never provide a reason so I can only guess: they came for the music and there is somewhat less of it? they feel the commentary (words and cartoons) and “resistance” has accelerated, even though we have been in a crisis for some time? or they subscribed when the newsletter only arrived in their email box two or three times a week and they really don’t like the nearly daily deluge? Who knows. Perhaps you have some thoughts on the matter…
Among the many big stories of the day: the FBI raid Georgia election office to try to find evidence of (yes, still) 2020 election fraud. Call it “Kash and Carry.”
