Stephen, awaiting the Epstein files release. I remain skeptical that the files—because of the Trump gang’s scrubbing and redactions—will hurt the president much.
Nick Offerman aided him in their annual Trumpmare Before Christmas cartoon.
But the hand-picked Trump board at the Kennedy Center adding the name of… guess who…to the venue, was cartoonish enough, right down to Karoline Leavitt congratulating not only Trump but somehow the alive and well “President Kennedy” for the honor. NY Times:
Unusually, the meeting was taking place not at the Kennedy Center but at the Palm Beach home of the casino magnate Steve Wynn, whose wife, Andrea, sits on the board.
Richard Grenell, the center’s Trump-appointed president, was there, and so was Lee Greenwood, who performed “God Bless the USA” at the meeting.
But there was at least one person who was not down with the idea: Representative Joyce Beatty, Democrat of Ohio, who had called in to the meeting. “It was such a surprise to me when they said we’re going to rename it,” she recounted in a phone interview. “I said, ‘Oh my gosh,’ and pushed my button. But then I was muted.”
We do have to enjoy this, however, via the Daily Beast:
A New York Times columnist has appeared in newly surfaced photos from Epstein’s estate, just weeks after he bashed Democrats for releasing information related to the sex offender's crimes.
That columnist, of course, was David Brooks.
Great to see Darlene Love return last night for what was once her annual Letterman “Christmas Baby Plrease Come Home,” and with sidekick Steve Van Zandt, now via Fallon.
