Cartoons Friday!
Plus Springsteen's favorite record (Sinatra?) and two live performances from Brandi Carlile this week. Bonus: Wynton Marsalis on Beethoven.
Some political potshots for the weekend. You might also enjoy Stephen Colbert and Paul Rudd mocking (in advance) his improbable selection as People’s Sexiest Man Alive, which may not have pleased the magazine. A few music picks first. Also on Colbert this week, Bruce Springsteen, asked for his all-time favorite recording, surprisingly chose Sinatra’s “Summer Wind,” so here it is. Then you may have caught Brandi Carlile on Colbert doing a song off her new album (below) but do not know she did online-only Joni Mitchell’s “Blue” so that’s here also.
Friday on Their Minds
Bonus
Wynton Marsalis on one of his heroes: Beethoven. Mine, too.
Colbert this week, asked Bruce Springsteen for his all-time favorite recording. Surprisingly he chose Sinatra’s “Summer Wind". (I don't believe it. Bruce just got tired of highlighting "Like A Rolling Stone.")
