Cartoons Monday!
Hot political images plus a little-known Joni Mitchell demo collection and an Eric Clapton takedown. Plus: a little-known NOLA piano genius.
This will get you going to start another work, or maybe vacation, week. The wild and tragic James Booker was firmly in the line of legendary New Orleans piano greats—from Fess and Fats to Toussaint and Butler and Dr. John. Some say he was the best. Now here’s one of the great songs and live performances of our era, “Papa Was a Rascal.” And the lyrics have everything: the KKK, the FBI and “We all better watch out, watch out for the CIA.” The doc about him not long ago was quite good. Enjoy, then share and subscribe (it’s still free).
