Plus the Stones get banned from Ed Sullivan show, but it is not "The Last Time."

And away we go with this week’s potshots, but first, on this date in 1964, the Stones in their first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show with an exciting “Time Is On My Side” (Bill and Keith singing backup). As the story goes, a mini-riot caused Ed to vow this would be the last time— group would never appear again on the stage. But, of course, they came back five more times, and as soon as 1965 with (ahem) “The Last Time.” Oh, Ed, you were such a kidder. Enjoy, then subscribe, it’s free.
