Cartoons Monday!
A dozen political hot shots plus a just-released alt-take by George Harrison and an obscure Joni Mitchell live song personally recorded on the scene in 1968 by an engineer named....Jimi Hendrix.
And away we go on another manic Monday. Don’t forget to share, comment, subscribe (it’s free). But first, below, a new alt-take of George Harrison’s “Isn’t It a Pity” from a 50th anniversary set coming this week.

From Steve Brodner:
Song Pick
Great story behind this one—a 1968 performance in an Ottawa club by Joni Mitchell lost for five decades—personally recorded by Jimi Hendrix. It seems they were both in the city and Jimi had a big old reel-to-reel tape recorder and asked if he could capture her show, explaining that they were both signed to Reprise. She said okay and he camped out at the foot of the stage and twiddled the knobs himself. Here’s Joni, via Jimi, doing “The Dawntreader.” It will be on her 10-CD set from those years coming on October 29.
"Isn't It A Pity" (take 27), just beautiful. May need to get the 3 c.d. set. Feel like I may need George to calm me in these troubled times. Thanks for sharing.
Really liked the rendition of Isn't it a Pity, and the animation was beautiful, but I don't get how it goes with the song. If someone could explain, I'd appreciate it!
