Cartoons Monday!
A dozen new political potshots plus the woman who inspired Robert Plant, Alison Krauss, Richard Thompson and Sandy Denny--among others.
And away we go for another week. But first, a highlight of the new (at long last) Robert Plant/Alison Krauss album is their cover of Annie Briggs’ classic “Go Your Way.” Uh, who is that? Yes, a revered if fairly obscure Brit singer-songwriter in the trad vein. Disappeared (though still living) and important enough to inspire song tributes from the likes of Sandy Denny, Richard Thompson, and the Decemberists, among others. Here below is Anne doing “Go Your Way” —or live with Bert Jansch—then those tributes by Richard (who also titled his excellent recent memoir Beeswing) and Sandy. Enjoy, then subscribe, it’s still free!
