Including a couple of music-themed funnies--and a surprising key detail about that solo in The Beatles' "Taxman."
Travel day for me, so you’ll have to “settle” for this group of swell cartoons and the following one classic song. On episode 5 of the Rick Rubin series with McCartney on Hulu, bassist Paul explains that (oddly) he played the influential India-influenced distorted guitar solo on George Harrison’s “Taxman.” Paul had the idea for it so George just said, “okay, you do it.” Here is the song in an alternate take (but with the solo).
Greg, Love the alternate "Taxman". Had not heard it before. Paul's playing on lead is grand. The different background vocal lyrics, "Anybody got a bit a money..." is hilarious. Those boys were creativel
