“Best Of” lists are for motels, car polish, and ground coffee. BS for artists!

The last time I was at Taos Pueblo, I, too, took a picture of the cemetary. To be exact, of that bell tower as it was backed by the beautiful mountains and the sky threatening to drop rain. The moment I tried to take the picture, my camera stopped working. It started again a couple of hours later after I got back to the cabin on Wheeler Peak where I was staying. I decided the Grandfathers were insulted I was taking a picture there and said, "nope." I love the Enchanted Circle of New Mexico. My family and I went there every year, staying in Eagle's Nest in what was then the Thunderbird Lodge, a group of real log cabins facing what was then a private lake, so it was empty, peaceful, idyllic, and gorgeous. I loved it as a child. I hate the fact the lake is now a public lake with boats and skiers all over it.

Although technically from Canada, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell made their careers in the US. And isn't Canada in North America? Chrissie Hynde, although born in Ohio, formed The Pretenders in England. And Gram Parsons didn't make the list but Emmy Lou did? Gram should be in the top ten.

Jesse Welles and Carsie Blanton are the soundtrack of the resistance.
