- Letterman thanked him for what he has done for the country.
- He has been burning through your star guests: Michelle Obama a few weeks ago, President Obama just last week, his "Strike Force Five" (thunder sound) friends, Tom Hanks yesterday, David Letterman today. And we know he's having Steven Spielberg next Tuesday.
- He is reserving Jon Steward for something special.
- His last show at "The Colbert Report" featured a large group of guests and friends singing "We'll meet again". But he is not are not going to repeat that format.
So what does he have in store?
I'll take a wild guess: He'll do a longer monologue (standing, no more chairs) in a rather serious tone, warning about the end of democracy, the risks to free speech, the danger of oligarchies and the stupidity of wanna-be kings. Then Jon will join in and they will present yourselves as an independent ticket for the 2028 Presidential Election. (Jon as VP, as he is a little older and VPs are expendable.)
Oh, let's not forget the group pic with the entire team.
Nice job, Steve Buscemi. All the feels. And Bramhall's cartoon of Narcissisus in the reflecting pool. Chef's Kiss. Yes, at least he didn't paint it gold.
