Greg Mitchell is the author of more than a dozen books (see link) and now writer/director of three award-winning films aired via PBS, including “Atomic Cover-up” and “Memorial Day Massacre” which are still up at PBS.org. Watch trailer for my acclaimed 2025 film “The Atomic Bowl.” Before all that, he was a longtime editor of the legendary Crawdaddy. At Blue Sky and Twitter: both as @gregmitch. You can still subscribe to this newsletter for FREE.
Travel day today so just a quickie here. Couple of songs to start. First, a late Marianne Faithfull with a tune by my man Steve Earle.
One of the best albums about 30 years back was Alejandro Escovedo’s “Thirteen Years.” Here from it is his live solo version of “Losing Your Touch'“ with dynamic guitar.
New to me and only put together by collector/fan last year, backstage vintage (1966) Byrds captured on 16 mm film, with Gene Clark song placed as soundtrack.
D’OH-GE!
