Our usual hot button collection below, but first: Big news for veteran Bob Dylan fans as his team just announced today a massive—27 CDs! and 431 tracks—collection of all the soundboard recordings from his epic 1974 reunion tour with The Band. Coming on Sept. 20. That tour was represented until now by the two-album live set “Before the Flood.” The new release is aimed at “celebrating the 50th anniversary of Bob Dylan’s return to touring that year.” Or whatever. They’ve released a live cut of “Forever Young.”
Probably of interest to more fans:
Third Man Records has announced the September release of The 1974 Live Recordings - The Missing Songs From Before the Flood, a 3-LP / 1 x 7-inch set culled from the same recordings, featuring hand selected versions of every song Bob Dylan recorded that was not included on the original 1974 live album. Pressed exclusively on colored vinyl, the set will be available through The Vault, Third Man's direct-to-customer mail order service.

But as usual some good tunes on the soundtrack—well, with so many needle drops there almost has to be. One of highlights was Eddie Vedder’s re-make of the English Beat’s “Save It For Later,” so here are both:
