Greg Mitchell is the author of more than a dozen books (see link) and now writer/director of three award-winning films aired via PBS, including “Atomic Cover-up” and “Memorial Day Massacre” which are still up at PBS.org. Watch trailer for my acclaimed 2025 film “The Atomic Bowl.” Before all that, he was a longtime editor of the legendary Crawdaddy. At Blue Sky and Twitter: both as @gregmitch. After viewing most of the performance clips from the Grammys show, I asked on Twitter and Facebook and BlueSky if there had been on the program any live (what I, or you, might call) “rock ‘n roll.” I didn’t get a single response beyond “all pop and hip hop, or countryish and more pop.” If you saw or heard something let us know in Comments below. I am still open to reports but this probably continues the trend where even the Rock and Roll Museum accepts fewer “rock” acts each year. I had to recall when Arcade Fire won the best album and other Grammys a few years back for “The Suburbs” and this was met by bafflement (what was THAT?) from many quarters….So in tribute, and perhaps fitting our times again, their live version of “Intervention.”
…..and another favorite cut, “Wake Up” with Bowie.
And going in the quieter direction, an acoustic version of “The Suburbs” that I’m sure you’ve never seen.

From last year but worth re-posting (ouch)
LOVE the regular postings -- for me, shorter is easier to consume and appreciate.
Thank you for the Arcade Fire, underrated genius rock and roll.
I’ve had “Keep the Car Running” in my head for a few days.
