Continuing our week of my photos of hummingbirds with Barbara Bedway comments. Today she writes: “Male ruby-throated hummingbirds are avian Lotharios. He’ll stay with a partner just long enough for courtship and mating – a matter of days to weeks. Then he’s off, ready to deploy that seduction magnet, his red gorget, in pursuit of other females.”
