Colbert Controversy, Day Two
Steve Earle agrees, "F the CC," plus: Springsteen announces new tour and our usual cartoons.

As I noted yesterday, Stephen Colbert on Monday night challenged his CBS bosses, and the FCC, after they more or less ordered him to kill his interview with U.S. Senate candidate in Texas, Democrat James Talarico, so he mocked them on air and ran the interview in full online. Last night he returned to the subject and stood his ground:
Steve Brodner predicts:
Washington Post on a young woman who earlier helped out her boss in his classified documents scandal:
Chamberlain Harris, a 26-year-old White House aide and a longtime executive assistant for President Trump, is slated to be sworn into the 126-year-old commission that is set to review his White House ballroom plans. She has no notable arts expertise.
And incredible story from the leading San Antonio newspaper re: GOP congressman: “A staffer for TX GOP Rep Tony Gonzales said she was having an affair with the congressman before she set herself on fire outside her home last year.”
In case you missed yesterday’s news on surprise Springsteen tour from The Boss himself:
We are living through dark, disturbing and dangerous times, but do not despair — the cavalry is coming…. from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope And Dreams American Tour. We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America — American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution and our sacred American dream — all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C. Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome — so come on out and join the United Free Republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of Rock ‘n’ Rebellion! I’ll see you there!
On the other hand, yesterday also saw RFK Jr. releasing bizarre tape of him working out with an equally nuts and bare-chested Kid Rock:
Music Pick
A reader reminded me of this old favorite, so in honor of Colbert, Steve Earle’s mighty “F the CC.”
