Quick Note: As you may know, my latest film, “The Atomic Bowl:Football at Ground Zero—and Nuclear Peril Today” has been airing over PBS stations this past month and streaming for free (key links to watch and more here). A companion e-book has been available but today it is also published as a paperback, and you can read more or order here. Thank you. And subscribing to this newsletter still somehow FREE.
Colbert returned after a three-week break last night and shocking to see it opened with the banner “Final Season.”
Another travel day today so mainly just Colbert’s return and a couple of apt songs and new cartoons, which seems to be my duty. BTW, if you want to consider subscribing to my “other” newsletter, here is fresh link to it.
As the new month begins: Willie Nelson’s classic rendition of “September Song.”
And the fantastic, haunting tribute to Johnny Cash, with Rosanne Cash joined by her dad, “September When It Comes.”

The music was fabulous today! Thank you! I always love Colbert, of course, and the toons.
Loved the Willie Nelson and Rosanne and Johnny Cash tracks.
Great cartoon selections, as usual.
