Border Officials Are Said to Have Caused El Paso Closure by Firing Anti-Drone Laser
People familiar with the episode said the use of the technology was not coordinated with the Federal Aviation Administration. Officials targeted what they thought was a drug cartel drone, but turned out to be a party balloon, they said.'
As one Twitter wag put it: “Pete Hegseth shooting down a party balloon will probably go down as the biggest accomplishment of his career.”
Mary Trump:
Because Pam Bondi is the most corrupt and depraved Attorney General in American history, she doesn’t seem to care that it’s her job to bring rapists of girls and young women to justice--not be a cheerleader for the fucking Stock Market.

Every year the Grammy Hall of Fame selects a dozen or more albums or single songs to immortalize. Here’s a story about this year’s list, with ceremonies later this year. Four “winners” below with another group tomorrow.
When little known Sam Cooke, age 19, joined the venerable gospel group The Soul Stirrers around 1952 their first session produced “Jesus Gave Me Water.”
Nick Drake’s song “Pink Moon” has become an offbeat classic but few know his final (of three) albums of the same title, with his always unqiue guitar tunings, and here’s one cut, “Place to Be.”
“Orange Blossom Special,” the bluegrass classic written in the late 1930s, didn’t become a hit on the single chart until Johnny Cash did it, here at his famous San Quentin gig.
A lot of folks have covered “Trouble in Mind” over the years but the original was by Bertha “Chippie” Hill around 1925, here with a little fella named Louis Armstrong.

This makes me so sad. Honoring dead athletes is not a political statement, it’s a statement of love and respect for the kids who are unable to ever participate in the sport again. The Olympic Committee should rethink what they have done to this athlete who has worked for 4 years to get ready to compete. It’s shameful.
re: Disqualified Ukrainian skater. I stand with Ukraine--I donate voluminously to children in Ukraine and visited during the war to work with children but the disqualification of the Ukrainian skater was fair. They broke the rules and told him he could wear an armband (I wear a black ribbon for Renee and Alex and painted two memorial signs for my house along with my Stand for Ukraine flag. Greg, you should have had link to story that was empathetic to both sides. If the rule of the Olympics since time immemorial is UNITY --as beautifully portrayed in the opening ceremonies!!!-- there must be respect by the skaters. An arm band would have been classy and perfect. And what's up with the cartoon of guys betting and beautiful female skater. Not funny... the cartoon on the Trump Kennedy Center website is fantastic with redacted name of DJT and sex abuse of 13 year old by SNL writer who owns the domain.
