Just a quickie for those who may have watched or at least heard about (or read new New York Times interview) my man Jason Isbell in a tux rocking the DNC opening night. Here is his performance and then quickly a few of my favorites from his solo career over the past 15 years, as in my view America’s greatest current songwriter… Part of Q & A from the Times:
Tonight:
Years past…”Danko/Manuel.”
“Dreamsicle.”
“Overseas.”
“Yvette.”
“Traveling Alone”
From latest album, “King of Oklahoma.”
“Only Children.”
On guitar with Wilco on one of my faves, “California Stars.”
“Children of Children.”
Consider my ears open. Thank you.
He’s a great songwriter. Soldiers Get Strange is a masterpiece.
