Bill Maher last night explained his decision to accept Mark Twain Prize: He just has to give the medal to Trump.
Trump yesterday, revealingly: “I hang out with losers because it makes be feel better. “I hate guys that are very, very successful and you have to listen to their success stories. I like people that like to listen to my success.”
Which drew these pithy responses among many others;
“A better explanation of his two administrations than any idea that any pundit has come up with,” wrote financial columnist Heidi Moore.
“The only moment of self-awareness in Trump’s life,” wrote podcaster and former Barack Obama strategist Dan Pfeiffer.
“Well, that explains the Cabinet!” said writer and political commentator Robert A. George.
Trump also said: “I’m going to take a few questions. You can ask me anything you want. You can talk sex.”
Heather Cox Richardson:

Trump “is getting a little bored with Iran,” a senior White House official told Jake Traylor of MS NOW. “Not that he regrets it or something—he’s just bored and wants to move on.”
If you missed, Trump took a surprise detour this week to Graceland, where he signed a guitar and mused about whether he could beat Elvis Presley in a fistfight.
