This will be our first and only Pope special so we might as well get to it. Of course, due to some overly Christian charity tweets Pope Leo is already getting crucified by MAGAs and assorted other true believers. Just for one, below. Sad, except she has real inflluence, though in this case Trump can’t fire a Pope.

New Pope Has Creole Roots in New Orleans
His ancestry, traced to a historic enclave of Afro-Caribbean culture, links Leo XIV to the rich and sometimes overlooked Black Catholic experience in America.
His grandfather was Creole and lived in the 7th Ward of New Orleans, so battered after Hurricane Katrina. His grandmother was also considered “black.” Here’s the “King of Zydeco,” Clifton Chenier, with the song that many say gave Zydeco its very name:
