A few tunes for the weekend, as campaign battles for union votes (and endorsements and money) rage….
Springsteen and Morello do one of my favorite Clash songs, “Clampdown”
Marianne Faithfull’s version of Lennon’s “Working Class Hero”
My man Ry Cooder as young man sliding with Woody’s “Vigilante Man”
The Kinks with their classic early music vid for “Dead End Street”
Rosanne Cash with Woody’s “I Ain’t Got No Home”
Her Dad and Tom Jones duet “John Henry”
and Amythyst Klah, who debuted this on the great Our Native Daughters lp, lifts “Polly Ann’s Hammer” (Polly was John Henry’s wife).
