Springsteen Finally Releases Electric 'Nebraska,' and More
Fans have clamored for it for decades, and now it is here--as tie-in to upcoming movie. Plus a few cartoons.
Quick Note: As you may know, my latest film, “The Atomic Bowl:Football at Ground Zero—and Nuclear Peril Today” has been airing over PBS stations this past month and streaming for free (key links to watch and more here). A companion e-book has been available but today it is also published as a paperback, and you can read more or order here. Thank you. And subscribing to this newsletter still somehow FREE.
Just a quickie for this news break, and a few cartoons:
The Bruce gang at Columbiajust announced this morning that his long-hidden electric “band” version of his fabled low-hi “Nebraska” album will finally be released on October 17. It’s a kind of odd tie-in to the new bio-pic which focuses on his decision to NOT release the full-band version and instead do it himself at home with a four-track. Whatever. Here is the trailer for the release:
The package will also include a “making of” film and acoustic outtakes from the original album and, of course, a re-mastered version of that original.
And they have released the “Born in the USA” cut for “Nebraska” which was shelved at the time, see here:
