Trailer for Dylan Flick Arrives: Plus 10 of His Best Songs from That Time
My country, Timothee?

Trailer for upcoming film with Timothee as Bobby drops....positively morph sweet? or you got a lotta nerve? Is it rolling, Bob? Does look like it starts, as expected, with him coming to NYC but now we see it goes through electric period and likely 1966 and motorcycle crackup… Well, it almost has to be better than “I’m Not There.”
Now, just a few of the many live Dylan performances from same period of the movie…
First, the song featured in the trailer, a stunning “Hard Rain.”
One of his greatest, “Only a Pawn in Their Game,” Newport, 1963.
At Newport in 1963 at an afternoon workshop with “North Country Blues,” only recently restored.
Bobby and Joanie at Newport ‘64, having some fun with “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” previewing their breakup.
Everyone remembers Dylan going electric at Newport 1965 but he earlier had played the usual afternoon workshop acoustic, here with “Love Minus Zero.”
and the then-unreleased “If You Gotta Go, Go Now.”
For the six people who have never seen the music-shifting “Like a Rolling Stone” a year later…. (Bloomfield on guitar, of course)
But you may not know that after the uproar over “going electric” that night at Newport, Bob was coaxed back onstage for an acoustic and very pointed “It’s All Over Now, Baby Blue”
From the acoustic portion of his riotous tour with The Hawks/The Band, “Visions of Johanna.”
And finally one of my live faves, which I played on my own guitar back in….1965…kicking ass with Robbie and the boys, “One Too Many Mornings.”
Sorry, I meant to write "Love Minus Zero" not "She Belongs to Me".
Greg, the trailer looks great (A Complete Unknown). Thanks for the education on the Dylan clips. "She Belongs to Me" and "If You Gotta Go, Go Now", among the others, are stunning. The audiences are in rapture.
