yes plant flowers that the hummingbirds gravitate to as sugar is not good for humans or birds.. Trumpet flowers (distictus vines) are a favortive, yet Hummingbirds love all bright, tubular flowers rich in sweet nectar,-- especially Salvia, Bee Balm, and Penstemon. Let your birds frolic in nature with healthy nectar (nature's natural sugar).. . Enjoy!

Feeders use artificial sugar and unhealthy for hummingbirds. Trumpet vines ramble plentifully over my pergola and are custom made for the hummingbird bill. The trumpet flower provides up to ten times more rich nectar than standard garden plants and provides an expanse with absolutely no fighting, just the harmony of whirring wings and friendly interaction with the family during alfresco meals.
I use the same sugar I use for baking. Do you suggest something else? We have many trumpet shaped and other flowers. Right now the heat is dropping most of them. My pics still aren’t as good as Greg’s. I’m about to get out one of my old slr cameras if I can find film
