I wanted to watch the Upton Sinclair program on TV, but I found out that although CSPAN3 was in the channel lineup of my cable provider(Cablevision), when I turned it on, I found out to my horror that that channel was now carrying Newsmax! I plan to write them an irate letter. And watch the program online.
You are absolutely right, campaign misdirection , misinformation and out right plagiarism are not new but the current Republican Party has descended to new lows and I don’t think there was threatened violence mentioned in you Sinclair book or did I miss it? Loved seeing the CSpan episode. Hope for more from you there

You might find this interesting: I was at an Andre Rieu outdoor concert in Maastricht, Netherlands in 2019, when the orchestra and six soloists performed the Ode to Joy. I'm attaching a brief video of that performance. To keep his audience happy, Rieu likes to schmaltz stuff up, but this theatrical embellishment really hit the mark. You'll notice a video of outer space runnning behind the orchestra and on side screens, reflecting images from some of the lyrics. When the video gets to about 2:15 pay close attention to the background screen. His tech staff makes terrific use of graphics and Google Earth, which brings us all the way down from Saturn to the concert venue.
