After "Born to Run" stardom, the Boss went to London and left me his Jersey home and one box of cereal. His rock 'n roll career would go far better than my future as a fiction writer.
I bought that Crawdaddy at a book store in Tupelo, Mississippi, a few blocks from the birthplace of Elvis Presley. I had been a Springsteen fan a little over two years. I remember being a little bothered that he resembled Wolfman Jack on the cover (and I loved that man).
I loved everything about Crawdaddy in those years. I was adolescent-early teens and it made me feel mature after reading CREEM.
After your post the other day, I feel a responsibility to comment much more than I have in the past. Though just as you can't maintain a daily writing commitment, I'm not sure I can maintain a daily commenting regiment. Let's agree to meet somewhere in the middle.
I can't tell you how much I enjoy reading tales of the Springsteen "Genesis story," as I'll call it. As ever, it makes me sorry that for as much as I've always loved Springsteen, I'm not more of a passionate fan. There's just too much music out there to limit myself to one artist or even a small handful.
Thanks, no pressure to comment, just when you feel like it, of course...and my "passion" for Bruce cooled long ago tho still feel much of his current work is quite good. Saw him last in Berlin 5 years ago (and then on Broadway).
Yeats also used a rhyming dictionary.

Lots of “Oh, wow’s!” in this remembrance of your stay in Bruce’s place. Loved it.
Greg, I love your “inside baseball” of Bruce’s early years. Great stuff!
Now finish the book…lol

That's about all I got.

Nifty cool
Greg....thanks for your Bruce stories. Can't get enough of them along with your other stories.
